The Happy Place Sushi experience.
Chef Frank Sicilia began his love affair with Sushi nearly 30 years ago, and after completing an apprenticeship with a master sushi chef, he began to share his love and skills with others. Soon, word spread about Frank's sushi and the sushi parties grew larger and larger, becoming "events" that took on a life of their own. Over the past 21 years, each place Frank has lived, he has built a following of sushi lovers. In 2011, Frank landed on San Juan Island, with his wife and son, and soon after began Happy Place Sushi. It's a perfect fit for Frank, as he has focused on creating delicious sushi using local, organic, and sustainably harvested ingredients. Sushi can be an incredibly healthy food source if prepared properly, however, it's only as healthy as the ingredients that you put into it. This is why Frank is dedicated to creating delicious and healthy food for all to enjoy.
​San Juan Island Farmers Market - Come see us and experience our sushi first hand for yourself. We offer weekly specials and a variety of 4 or 5 different types of rolls, including local seafood options, free-rang Chicken (yes, chicken), and choices of both Vegetarian and Vegan sushi rolls.
​Sushi Classes - This experience is both educational and fun-filled. Learn all the basics of making sushi, including tools of the trade, how to make "perfect sushi rice"', prepping techniques, and hands-on instruction for making today's most popular sushi rolls.
